A news release put out by the Louisiana High School Athletic Association details that the 2020 Football Prep Classic is being moved from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans to Northwestern University in Natchitoches.
A statement from the New Orleans Saints details the phased introduction of allowing fans in the Superdome for upcoming home games. 3,000 Saints fans will be allowed access to this weekends game and up to 15,000 fans could be allowed by late December.
Reports by NFL insiders are saying that Saints officials are meeting with LSU officials about hosting upcoming games in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium. These talks come as Mayor Latoya Cantrell has continued to decline Saints requests to allow fans in the Superdome.
Mayor-President Josh Guillory of Lafayette has a solution for the New Orleans Saints not being able to have fans inside of the Superdome for home games. He has offered the Saints and the NFL the option to host Saints home games in Lafayette at Cajun Field if Mayor Cantrell will not allow fans in the Superdome.
Centerplate, the hospitality team for the Mercedes Benz Superdome, has added four special dishes to the concessions for the championship game this Sunday.
The Brothers of the Sun Tour starring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw is coming to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on August 3rd. Tickets go on sale to the generic public this Saturday, June 9th at 10am.
