The last week or so has been pretty dry across Louisiana, but that is going to change as consistent rain chances will be in the forecast for much of the upcoming week.
A week and a half before the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) is currently monitoring two disturbances, one of which is already in the Gulf of Mexico.
Conditions in the Southwest Gulf of Mexico are very conducive for tropical development and the Hurricane Center is projecting a 50% chance that this system could get organized into at least a tropical depression.
