The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns were looking to get back on the right track in the final game of the 3 game series against the Sam Houston State Bearkats. The Cajuns were able to stay in the game early but the Bearkats would pull away late to defeat Louisiana 9-2 as the Cajuns fall to 1-6 on the season.

The Cajuns biggest opportunity to score through the first 3 innings came in the top of the 1st inning when Gavin Bourgeois was walked to begin the game and then Hunter Kasuls would get a double to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with nobody out. The Cajuns would then strike out, foul out and ground out to end their only scoring threat in the early innings. The Bearkats would have their biggest threat in the bottom of the 3rd  and would take the lead off of an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.

The Cajuns would have another great opportunity to score in the top of the 5th to get back into the game. The Cajuns would be able to take advantage of that opportunity when O'neal Lochridge would get an RBI double to tie up the game. The Cajuns would be able to take a 2-1 lead in the top of the 6th when Daniel Lahare would get an RBI single. The Bearkats would be able to retake the lead in the bottom of the 6th when they would get an RBI single and then get a bases loaded walk. The Bearkats would take a 3-2 lead after 6 innings of play and they wouldn't let go of that lead.

The Cajuns got a lead off double in the top of the 7th but they weren't able to get any other chances in the 7th. The Cajuns went in order in the 8th and the Bearkats would tack on 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to put the game away. The Bearkats would score on a sacrifice fly, a passed ball, an RBI single and a 3-run home run. The Cajuns would be able to get a runner in the 9th but that would be it as the Cajuns would get swept for the first time this season.
