2020 ‘Boo at the Zoo’ Still Fun, But a Little Different This Year
2020 is the year of changing things up, whether we actually wanted to or not. Most of the fall events I look forward to this season have either been cancelled or moved to next year. And we've even seen a Mardi Gras parade cancelled for 2021. So, I was very happy to see that one of my favorite events will still go on this year. With just a couple of changes.
Boo at the Zoo is an annual event at Zoosiana - Zoo of Acadiana in Broussard, and one that kids have enjoyed for many, many years. I have done live broadcasts for Boo at the Zoo, and have always loved seeing the excited faces of the little ones, and the amazing costumes and decorations done by the zoo staff. This year, Boo at the Zoo will be held the entire month of October, and if Halloween is your favorite holiday, then this is going to be so much fun for you!
Some of the other fun things include:
- An online costume contest
- Children 12 and under will get a "Trick or Treat" bag upon exiting the zoo
- No special event pricing
- Zoo will be festively decorated for the whole month
- All your favorite zoo animals will be waiting for you!
For the online costume contest, just wear your most fabulous creation when you visit Zoosiana, and then stop in at one of the designated photo op spots to snap a pic. Then email your pictures to boo@zoosiana.com. All photos will be on the Zoosiana Facebook page, and the public will be able to vote for their favorites up until October 31.
