During these blazing, hot summer days we often find ourselves day dreaming of water:  pools, beaches, and water parks! Water parks are an awesome way to get the family out of the house and cool off. I have not been to many water parks but I've heard awesome things about a few water parks in driving distance of Lafayette.

Here is a quick list of four, fun-filled water parks only a couple hours away:

1.) Blue Bayou (Baton Rouge) - From past experience I can say that Blue Bayou is awesome!  Most Louisianians have paid their $30 ticket to splash around at Blue Bayou. This water park offers plenty of ways to cool off. Make sure to hop on the Azuka- the world's largest tornado slide!

2.) L'auberge Lazy River (Lake Charles) - L'auberge Casino & Resort has an awesome lazy river. In addition to a lazy river, tropical sandy beaches, cabanas and a whirl pool with a swim up bar are there to satisfy guests. The casino may rob you of your money but there's no cost to float along the lazy river and catch sun rays.

3.) Schlitterbahn (Galveston, TX) - This water park is extremely popular and extremely cool! I have never been to Schlitterbahn, but it's certainly on my priority list. There are multiple slides, rides, and tides to take on. The Dragon Blaster definitely looks like a thrill.

4.) Splash Kingdom Water Park (Shreveport, LA) - This is only 3 hours and 15 minutes north of Lafayette. Splash Kingdom Water Park is a family fun water park with rides the entire family will enjoy. Take a dip and cool off in the lagoon. Splash Kingdom is also a great place to celebrate a birthday.

I feel much more refreshed just reading about the delicious water parks that are in our neck of the woods. Plan a family vacation to any of these, it will be a fabulous way to cool off!
