5 Things Every Louisiana Resident Has A Story About
Here in Louisiana, we love our stories. We all love to tell them. We all love to hear them. Sometimes we elect them and sometimes we wish we could forget them. The reason for all the stories? We have so much good storytelling material. In fact, I'd hazard a guess that almost every Louisiana resident of a certain age has "a story" about most of these topics.

Mardi Gras
What's interesting about most of our Mardi Gras stories is this. The stories where we are "the star" usually have to be told by someone else since our memory of that particular time may have been altered slightly.

Snakes
I know, it's not their fault. It's our fault for wanting to live where they have always dwelled. Louisiana is home to seven different venomous snakes. I am okay with that as long as their home and my home remains at different locations.

Walmart
For some the story may be simple, "I refuse to go in there". For the rest of us, our trips to Walmart are the self-esteem boost we need to feel a little better about ourselves. It's like when you visit Mississippi and you feel just a little bit smarter.

Meeting A Celebrity
Louisiana gets more than its fair share of famous faces parading through. Parades, football games, concerts, movie production, and Mardi Gras are great bait when it comes to luring those who seek the spotlight. So, who was your "brush with greatness"? Did it happen at Walmart?

Bourre', Bingo, The Casino And The Track
It's not really a game of chance if you are the one with skill right? We do love to take our chances here in Louisiana. We are blessed with amazing gambling skills and patience. Nah, just kidding we bet on childbirth. I mean we might bet on that if it was legal. Well every now and then we get lucky. When we do, you can count on that story in repeat mode for the next few years.
