In my excursions into the land of lottery dreams, I have had my share of close encounters when it comes to winning my share of the big money. Just last weekend I only missed the Powerball jackpot by six numbers. See, it doesn't sound so bad when you say it that way does it?

But we're not writing to tell you about the tickets that almost won. I am writing to encourage the holder of a Powerball ticket that was sold in Scott Louisiana that time is running out on the opportunity to turn that ticket into $50,000.

The winning ticket comes from the February 20th drawing of the multi-state Powerball game. The winning numbers in that drawing were:

27 49 50 51 52 Powerball 02 and Powerplay x2

A ticket that matched four of the five numbers and the Powerball was sold at the Racetrac located at 201 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. That ticket will be declared invalid if the prize is not claimed by August 19th. I realize that's still a few days away, 54 if we're being exact, but who would want to go through the entire Summer without having $50,000 in extra cash?

If you normally play the Powerball game and you purchase your tickets at the Racetrac Gas Station located at 201 Ambassador Caffery Parkway you might want to be sifting through pants pockets, purses, those cubby holes in your car, or anywhere else you could have stashed that ticket. We don't want you to miss out on the money, that's for sure.
