No band? No problem! During her opening set for Rob ThomasChip Tooth Smile Tour on Monday evening (June 3), Abby Anderson's band had some unexpected technical difficulties. While the musicians worked to fix the issue, Anderson grabbed her guitar for an acoustic performance of Ben E. King's "Stand by Me."

What began as a setback quickly became one of the most special moments of the night, however, when Anderson's tour boss appeared impromptu at the side of the stage to support her with backing harmonies. Press play above to watch!

After the show, Anderson shared footage of the surprise performance on Instagram, explaining that she had learned a valuable life lesson from the moment. "Last night in Cincinnati I learned more about how I hope to make everyone around me feel.." the singer wrote. "[Thomas] was watching our set from side stage (which he does EVERY SINGLE NIGHT) and saw what was going on. And all of the sudden he was standing by my side. The headliner himself, coming out on stage during the opener's set. He made me and my whole crew feel like a million bucks."

To the rising country artist, the moment demonstrated exactly why she loves touring and learning from Thomas. "Today I am thankful for the joy in my heart, Mr. Rob Thomas having me out on tour with him, and having the opportunity to learn from a true pro. Not only in performing, but in taking every opportunity to lift up the people around you," she continued.

Anderson didn't forget to deliver a shout-out to the band who solved their technical woes with ease, either, saying that they quickly figured out the problem while she and Thomas played "cuz they are brilliant!!!"

The Chip Tooth Smile Tour kicked off in May of 2019, and will run through early August.
