Last week many of us were captivated and quite frankly more than a little concerned by a video that originated from just off Panama City Beach Florida. That video showed a swimmer being trailed by what appears to be a very large shark.

That was last week, now comes video over the weekend of a hammerhead shark swimming basically on to the beach while confused swimmers scurry to get out of the way.

The video was taken near the Splash Resort on Panama City Beach and a subsequent video seems to indicate that the distressed animal did not survive swimming this close to the shore.

The bottom line we all need to remember when swimming in the ocean, even if we're swimming close to the beach, we are out of our element. We have entered the domain of other creatures that can and actually will harm us.

It's always a good idea to stay cognizant of just who or what happens to be in the water next to you no matter where you go in swimming.
