Louisiana iPhone users could have money, a significant amount of money, coming to them as part of a recent settlement with Apple. The entire class action lawsuit was settled for 35 million dollars but you won't be getting all of that. Instead, you could get up to $349 from Apple should your claim match the most lucrative of settlement options from the lawsuit.

The issue that sparked the lawsuit involved audio problems with the phone. According to the lawsuit the problem was with the audio IC chip. Apparently in some iPhones after an IOS update, the microphone stopped working and the speaker button was grayed out making receiving and taking phone calls difficult. The defect, alleged defect we should say, is called Loop Disease. You can find out more about that, here.

The audio issue we've described, according to some consumers, violated consumer protection laws and constituted a breach of warranty. Apple did not agree with that assessment and denied the allegations. However, the court ruling seems to justify the actions of those who complained about the problem.

Who is Eligible for Money Back from Apple Settlement?

The suit involves users of iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus who owned and used those devices between September 16, 2016, and January 3rd, 2023. Chances are you may have upgraded your phone, especially since 2016 so do think back if you had one of those models.

Those who were eligible for the settlement were sent postcards and emails but in case you did not get one of those and still feel as if you should be included in the settlement you may call 1-833-633-0343 for more information.

How Much Money Should I Expect From the Apple iPhone Settlement?

That depends on what actions you took with your phone and whether or not you still have the documentation to support those actions. If you have payment documentation for repair or replacement you could receive $50 to $349. If you complained about the issue to Apple but did not incur out-of-pocket expenses for repair or replacement you could receive as much as $125.
