The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Saturday, April 18th.

There are now 23,580 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana, an increase of 462 cases since the last report. 6,249 tests have been completed by state labs and 131,750 tests have been reported by commercial labs. Numbers show that there are 1,761 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized with 347 of them on ventilators.

The total amount of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,236 with 119 deaths reported.

Lafayette Parish: 414 cases, 17 deaths
St. Martin Parish: 187 cases, 12 deaths
Iberia Parish: 176 cases, 8 deaths
St. Mary Parish: 143 cases, 11 deaths
St. Landry Parish: 133 cases, 20 deaths
Acadia Parish: 110 cases, 7 deaths
Evangeline Parish: 43 cases
Vermilion Parish: 30 cases, 1 death

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,267. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
