The Louisiana Department of Health has issued its daily update for Thursday, April 30th.

There are now 28,001 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Louisiana. That number is up 341 since yesterday.

Numbers show that there are 1,601 reported COVID-19 patients currently hospitalized- an decrease over 28 since yesterday.

231 patients are on ventilators across the state. That is a decrease of 13 since yesterday.

The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,862, an increase of 60 since yesterday.

As of today, 17,303 COVID-19 patients are presumed recovered.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Acadiana region is 1,529 (increase of 33 cases) with 131 deaths reported (increase of 7 deaths).

Lafayette Parish: 455 cases, 20 deaths (They are up four cases, same number of deaths since yesterday)
Iberia Parish: 257 cases, 20 deaths (They are up nine cases and one death)
St. Martin Parish: 232 cases, 17 deaths (They are up four cases and one death)
St. Mary Parish: 191 cases, 20 deaths (They are up six cases)
St. Landry Parish: 180 cases, 42 deaths (They are up eight cases and three deaths)
Acadia Parish: 130 cases, 10 deaths (They are up one death)
Evangeline Parish: 49 cases, 1 death (They have reported their first death)
Vermilion Parish: 35 cases, 1 death (The numbers are the same as yesterday)

There is more widespread representation throughout the state as all 64 parishes now have at least one confirmed case of COVID-19. The total number of deaths reported due to the coronavirus is now at 1,862. New Orleans continues to be the hardest-hit area of the state. The next update is due out tomorrow at noon.
