A north Louisiana man has been accused of fatally shooting another person following an argument over a pair of Nike shoes.

The Monroe News-Star reports that an arrest warrant for Dexstavious Deon James states that the shooting happened on Sunday morning in Monroe.

The 38-year-old James and his brother got into a dispute with the victim, Marshall L. Carter, regarding Nike shoes. The two brothers fought with Carter, and James' brother had a pistol in his hand. At some point in the confrontation, the pistol jammed, and James took it.

The warrant states that James cleared the pistol and then shot Carter one time in the head, killing him.

James' mother, cousin and a neighbor reportedly witnessed the shooting.

According to the warrant, James admitted to jerking the gun from his brother and shooting Carter.

James, of Shreveport, was charged with second-degree murder and booked into the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. His bond was set at more than $1 million.
