We are lucky to live in the good ole USA, where we can name our babies anything we want! But it's not like that in some other countries, unfortunately. So, if you wanted to name your kid Anderson, for example - better not set up roots in Germany, because any name that derives from a surname if banned.

Iceland bans all baby names that start with 'C', so if you are a Cindy, better not go there, because there are no C's in the Icelandic alphabet. That would be bad news for me, since I have a  Courtney in my family!

Duke, King, Major, Prince - all names you cannot use in New Zealand because they are considered 'Offensive'.

Portugal has a 41 page list of names that are banned, so if you are Mona Lisa, you are outta luck!

Check out some of the crazy reasons why theses and other baby names are banned across the globe, and be glad you live in a country where no one CARES what you name your baby, except you, of course!
