‘Baby Shark’ Company Bringing Their Unstoppable Ear Worms to Netflix
You have heard it. You know it. Odds are if you have kids, you fear it. For it is coming. And it will not be stopped.
It is: BABY SHARK.
(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo.)
The insanely popular viral hit — with 2.2. billion hits on YouTube and counting — is next taking its talents to Netflix. Bloomberg reports that Pinkfong, the company behind this family of sharks and its various doos and doos, is preparing an onslaught of media of content, including content on Netflix:
Love or hate it, the South Korean company behind the one-and-a-half minute song about a family of sharks is now seeking to capitalize on the success by expanding its kid-oriented entertainment business. Seoul-based SmartStudy Co.’s Pinkfong is planning to release short videos via Netflix Inc., a cartoon series and a musical in North America this year, one of the company’s founders said in an interview this week.
Better get those Parental Controls updated on your Netflix, my friends. Don’t want to give your kids unfettered access to Daddy Shark. It doesn’t get any scarier than that. Oh wait, yes it does — Bloomberg reports there are Baby Shark games coming as well. Hide your tablets and smartphones!
Pinkfong hinted to Bloomberg that you can expect to see their content start popping up Netflix “sometime in March 2019.”
