Baton Rouge Police Officer Killed While Escorting Funeral

Sad news to report as a Baton Rouge police officer was killed on Friday after the motorcycle he was riding was hit during a funeral procession.

According to police, 31-year-old officer Shane Totty was hit by a pick-up truck that pulled out in front of him while he was escorting a funeral.

The crash happened around 2:45 pm.

Totty was taken to a local hospital in critical condition but died just before 6 pm.

At this time, it is unclear if any charges will be filed against the driver of the truck.
