Benefit for Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Percy Sledge This Sunday at Atchafalaya Club
The legendary Percy Sledge is dealing with some serious health issues and several of his friends are getting together to put together a benefit for him this Sunday from 4pm to 9pm at Pat's Atchafalaya Club in Henderson.
The musical line-up includes Blue Eyed Soul Revue with Tony O., Warren Storm, Willie T & Cypress with guest Jivin' Gene Bourgeois, TK Hulin & Smoke with G. G. Shinn, Charlene Howard, Steve Adams, Gregg Martinez and Steve Grisaffe.
Funny man Murray Conque will be the master of ceremony and, as billed, there will be a "very special surprise guest".
The 73-year-old Percy Sledge is best known for his 1966 signature hit "When a Man Loves a Woman" plus other big tunes like "Warm and Tender Love", "It Tears Me Up", "Out of Left Field" and "Take Time to Know Her".
Percy is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Rhythm & Blues Foundation’s first Career Achievement Award, as well as the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.
There is a $20 donation to attend. Pat's Atchafalaya Club is located at 1008 Henderson Levee Road in Henderson.
