Bill Cosby Admitted in 2005 to Drugging Woman Before They Had Sex
A judge in Pennsylvania released a deposition yesterday from 2005 where Bill Cosby confessed under oath that he gave Quaaludes to at least one woman before he slept with her in 1976.
He stopped short of saying he drugged anyone without their knowledge though. He said he just gave the woman drugs before they had sex and it was consensual.
The woman he admitted to having sex with was a 19-year-old he met backstage after one of his shows in Las Vegas in 1976. He would have been 39 or 40 at the time and married for about 12 years.
In the deposition, here is what he said about the encounter:
She meets me backstage. I give her Quaaludes. We then have sex.
Cosby also admitted he got seven prescriptions for Quaaludes in the 1970s and used to give them to other people too. He cannot be charged for that because the statute of limitations has run out.
A lawyer asked Cosby if it was "in his mind" that he was going to use the Quaaludes for young women that he wanted to have sex with, and he said "yes."
Back to the 19-year-old, apparently her name is Therese Serignese, who went public with her story last November. She says he handed her some pills when she walked into his dressing room. She then felt woozy, and the next thing she knew, they were having sex.
