What better way to celebrate the season than with an evening of live music, good times, better friends, and a great cause. It's all happening in downtown Lafayette tonight. Festival International presents the Blue Christmas fundraiser to benefit the Blue Monday Mission. It all takes place tonight in downtown Lafayette's Rock N Bowl.

Blue Monday has become a downtown Lafayette tradition on the second Monday of each month. Tonight's Blue Monday Jam will take a decided Christmas slant. In addition to some of your favorite Christmas classics, you're bound to hear some holiday favorites done with a touch of the blues and maybe a little Motown could be thrown in for good measure too.

Featured performers for tonight's show include a special performance by students from the School of Rock. They will take the stage at 5:30. Then RAM, a voodoo rock roots band from Haiti is scheduled to perform. They will take the stage at 6 pm. Then at 7, the Blue Monday All-Stars featuring a virtual who's who of guest performers will take the stage.

Oh yeah, a little elf tells me that you can get a photo made with Santa beginning at 4:30. So, if you wanna knock off work a little early and go grab the kids you can do that since this party is an all-ages show.

Admission is $10. A $20 ticket not only gets you in but will get you fed too. Proceeds from ticket and meal sales will go to support the work of the Blue Monday Mission. The mission of that group provides health and life care services for the aging, retired and elderly musicians and artists in Lafayette and the surrounding community.
