Body Found Washed Up Near USS Kidd in Baton Rouge on Monday Night

A body was found on Monday evening in Baton Rouge when it washed up near the USS Kidd on River Road along the banks of the Mississippi River.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the body was discovered around 7:40 pm.

Officials are unsure of the gender or age of the deceased person.

A cause of death has also not been determined at this time.

Police said that the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office will perform an autopsy on the body to determine the exact cause of death.

No other details were released and the investigation is ongoing.
