22 year-old Diana Zacarias of Natchitoches, Louisiana was first reported missing April 3rd by her family. The National Park Service reported they found her body this past Saturday in the Grand Canyon.

Zacarias posted a selfie at the Grand Canyon to Facebook on April 1st, leaving a clue for investigators as to her whereabouts.

The Park Service conducted a search for several days back in April, but were unable to find her. This past Saturday her body was discovered while conducting routine training according to Park Service press release.

Her remains were sent to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office for an official identification and autopsy to determine the cause of death, Shedlowski said.

She said the Grand Canyon sees about 12 to 15 deaths per year, most from heat or other medical issues.
