Dollar General has announced that more than 2,000 items currently on offer in their stores have now been priced at or below the store's namesake amount of $1.00. A recent earnings call suggested that Dollar General is feeling the pain of American consumers as they battle higher fuel prices and inflation in general. The current inflation rate is 4.2%, double the Federal Reserve's target of 2.0%.
