Best Of Lafayette

Lafayette's downtown concert series, Downtown Alive!, has just announced its Spring 2012 lineup.

Fox Sports recently ranked the bowl games from this season and the Cajuns' dramatic win over San Diego State in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl came in #2. That's second only to the overtime Fiesta Bowl between Stanford and Oklahoma State.

Outdoor game events, a carnival, and lots of family activities will bring in 2012 today at the Children's Museum of Acadiana!

Unless you live under a rock, you're aware that our Ragin' Cajuns won the R+L Carrier New Orleans Bowl. I had quite a time with the Pride of Acadiana.

Ragin Cajun Football is on a roll, and local artist Tony Bernard has come up with a way to honor our hometown heros with beautiful new art. The Cajuns have new uniforms and a new coach, and Mr Bernard wanted to reflect the new attitude that goes along with that...

Let's sing it together ya'll - "Oh I'd love to be an Oscar Meyer wiener..." I have no idea why I'm so excited about the Weinermobile being in Acadiana, but I am. Great childhood memories. Did you know you can book the Wienermobile  for your wedding limo? Awesome.

You don't have to tell me why I live in the best place.  Food is what I love, a lot!  I was so happy and proud of us because Rand McNally, from the "Best of the Road Rally, picked us (Lafayette) for the "Best Place For Food" in America!  Holy smokes, that's a big deal!

The Eat Lafayette campaign rolls on now through August 15th. Jude Walker made a stop recently to one of the fabulous locally owned restaurants, Antoni's Italian Café on Coolidge in the Oil Center. Check out Jude's trip to Antoni's and see if he can now speak TWO words of Italian.

There is absolutely NOTHING better than our cuisine here in Louisiana, and especially Lafayette! People come from all over the world to partake in delicious treats that we sometimes take for granted. We are the luckiest people alive to have fresh, local food at our disposal...
