Central, Louisiana Pastor Tony Spell has just been charged with 6 counts of disobeying the power of the governor.

WAFB.com reports Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle Church "is facing six counts, one count for each time he allegedly held a gathering at his church that exceeded the limit set by the governor."

Over the past six weeks, Pastor Spell has made waves by repeatedly ignoring the governor's orders against large gatherings in an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

From WAFB.com, here is the law Pastor Spell is accused of repeatedly violating -

"RS 29:724 — Powers of the governor. A. The governor is responsible for meeting the dangers to the state and people presented by emergencies or disasters, and in order to effectuate the provisions of this Chapter, the governor may issue executive orders, proclamations, and regulations and amend or rescind them."
