Chevron Announces More Layoffs In Lafayette And Covington

Really hate to report this news, but according to KATC, Chevron has just announced more layoffs in Lafayette and Covington.

This unfortunate news was announced by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. KATC reports that law "requires companies to report layoffs if it is a full plant closure resulting in 50 or more employees losing their jobs in any 30-day period or if there is a mass layoff during any 30-day period".

Chevron has alerted the commission that layoffs are planned for 385 employees. This is said to include 45 offshore workers, and 340 office employees.
