Chuck E Cheese has announced they have officially filed for bankruptcy protection.

CEO David McKillips said Today (06/25/20) in a press release that it has been "the most challenging event in our company's history" as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From the press release via KATC.com -

“The Chapter 11 process will allow us to strengthen our financial structure as we recover from what has undoubtedly been the most challenging event in our Company’s history and get back to the business of delivering memories, entertainment, and pizzas for another 40 years and beyond.”

In recent weeks, parent company CEC Entertainment has re-opened 266 of its 612 Chuck E Cheese and Peter Piper Pizza restaurants across the country.
