Jerry Stiller, actor and comedian and father of Ben Stiller, has died of natural causes at the age of 92.

"I'm sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad," his son said in a tweet early Monday morning.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Stiller's career began in the 1950s on Broadway alongside his wife Anne Meara. The top comedy act also was a regular on "The Ed Sullivan Show" some 36 times in the 1960s.

Jerry Stiller would have a resurgence in the 90s playing his iconic character, Frank Costanza, on the hit TV show "Seinfeld."

He appeared in 26 episodes of "Seinfeld" as the father of George (Jason Alexander) from 1993-98, with Estelle Harris playing his wife, Estelle. Stiller received an Emmy nomination for his work on the show in 1997. ("Festivus for the rest of us!")
