Travelers in and around the Shreveport area just might have a really interesting excuse if they are late for work this morning. An overnight traffic accident has left the I-220 bridge in Shreveport closed and covered with corn dogs.

The accident happened about 3:30 this morning when an 18 wheeler carrying a load of Foster Farms Corn Dogs overturned and filled the roadway with the great taste of festival goodness. The truck was traveling from Alabama to California when the accident occurred near the I-220 interchange with Louisiana 3132. As of now only the westbound lanes of the highway are affected. Traffic is being diverted to I-20, no injuries were reported in the accident. Authorities hope to reopen the westbound lanes in just a few hours.
