Who knew cow brains were such a tasty treat?

On Friday, customs officials at Cairo's international airport confiscated 420 pounds of cow brains from three Sudanese guys. The fellas planned to sell the goods to Egyptians restaurants.

Apparently cow brains are cheap and plentiful in Sudan. Not so much in Egypt where they are considered a delicacy.

The smuggling of cow brains has become big business because they can be sold for as much as six times in Egypt! The restaurants often deep fry the brains and livers and serve them in pita bread with spicy red sauce.

Officials say the confiscated brains will be burned.

Now, at first thought, this sounds disgusting. But think of some of the crazy things we've traditionally eaten here in south Louisiana. That leads to the question, "What's the wildest thing you've ever eaten?"
