It's not that hard to figure out why Lafayette is called Lafayette, but according to our City Parish President, Joey Durel, Lafayette wasn't originally Lafayette. I guess Mr. Durel studied really hard in his Louisiana history classes. But did you ever wonder where towns like Cranky Corner and Uneedus  in Tangipahoa Parish and Soso Mississippi  got there names? It makes for an interesting read and maybe an interesting road trip.
