CVS Health has announced they are opening 15 additional drive-through COVID-19 testing sites at store locations across Louisiana. Four of these new locations are in Acadiana.

KATC reports the 15 new Louisiana locations are set to open tomorrow (05/28/20) as part of the company's goal to have 1,000 COVID-19 drive-through testing sites across the country by the end of May.

CVS currently has eight COVID-19 drive-through testing sites in Louisiana already, including one in Lafayette at 705 Bertrand Drive.

The sites will offer self-swab tests to patients to those who meet the CDC criteria and age guidelines for testing. Patients will be required to register online to schedule an appointment. Registration opens on May 29.

Patients will get the COVID-19 test kit in the Pharmacy drive-through with instructions on how to self-swab. After the self-swab is complete and turned in by the patient, CVS will then send the test to a 3rd party lab to get results. CVS says the results will be available within three days.
