Richard Attenborough, who played John Hammond, the owner of the world's deadliest theme park in "Jurassic Park", has passed away at age 90.

No official word on the cause of death has been released. He had been living with his wife in a nursing home in London, England.

Americans knew him best for his role in "Jurassic Park", its sequel "Lost World" and dozens of other films, but he was also an accomplished director.

His credits behind the director's chair included "A Bridge Too Far", "A Chorus Line", "Cry Freedom", "Chaplin" and "Ghandi", which won him an Oscar for Best Director.

Attenborough is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Sheila, along with three children.
