
Shaking Out the Good Stuff – Down South Heroes Chili Cook-Off for St. Jude on March 28-29 in New Iberia
An amazing group that helps some equally fantastic kids will be putting on a fundraiser in a couple of weekends and we want you to be there to help out this great cause.
Down South Heroes will be hosting their Chili Cook-Off for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on March 28-29, 2025, at the Sugarena in New Iberia, Louisiana.
Let's run down all you need to know about this great event.
Friday, March 28, 2025 Festivities
Festivities start on Friday, March 28 with a couple of great bands. X Change Band will play from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm followed by The Bad Boys from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
The gate fee for Friday will be $5 with kids under four years old getting in free. Doors will open at 5:00 pm.
Saturday, March 29, 2025 Festivities
Then Saturday, March 29 is when things really get "cooking."
Cooking starts at 6:00 am, judging at 1:00 pm, and serving of the chili starts at 1:30 pm. Awards will be presented later in the afternoon after the live auction.
The live music entertainment for the day is as follows:
- 9:00 am - 10:30 am: Cliff Bernard & Byron Leblanc
- 11:00 am - 12:30 pm: The Hands of Time
- 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm: Fifth Edition
- 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm: Darel Gros Band
- 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm: Cajun Roots
- 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm: Swampland Revival
Gate fees for Saturday, March 29:
- Under 4 years old - Free
- 5-12 years old - $5.00
- All others - $10.00
