Downtown Alive! Will Happen Rain Or Shine Tonight
Fan's of Lafayette's Original Street Party will want to know that Downtown Alive! will be going on as scheduled this evening. Well, maybe with a few modifications depending upon what the weather forecast looks like for later this afternoon.
The plan right now is for fans of great live music to congregate at Parc International after work for THE Happiest Hour, a special drink and food promotion associated with DTA!. That starts at 5 PM. Live music is set to being at 6 PM with local favorites Steve Adams, Lance Dubroc, and the 504 Horns on stage.
Adams has been a local favorite for years appearing with such Acadiana musical legends as T.K. Hulin and The Boogie Kings. Dubroc, from St. Landry Parish, is well known for his dynamic vocals and the 504 Horns play with a style reminiscent of the old Stax horn styles you might associate with acts like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett.
In the event of inclement weather, the music will be moved to Rock n Bowl de Lafayette. Organizers of DTA! are staying in close contact with weather authorities and will make a determination of where tonight's show will be held well before showtime.
