(KMDL-FM) Maybe the reason so many of us in Louisiana gravitate toward the Roberston Family of Duck Dynasty fame is that we see a lot of ourselves in that family. Between the hijinks and hilarious antics we witnessed when Duck Dynasty was first on television and the current health and family struggles the Robertsons are facing many of us can find a common ground between their issues and the issues we see in our own homes.

If you weren't aware, the patriarch of the Robertson clan, Phil Robertson, has been facing some serious health issues. Among those have been an injured back, a blood disease, and he is battling the onset of Alzheimer's Disease. That has kept Mr. Phil in and out of healthcare facilities over the past several months and years.

Miss Kay, Phil's dearly beloved for over 55 years had been in relatively good health for someone of her age but recently was injured in a fall. An infection that was a result of that fall had kept Miss Kay in a facility for treatment as well. Unfortunately, the facility Miss Kay was being treated in and the facility where Phil was receiving his treatments were not the same.

That has now changed. According to the Robertson Family Podcast Unashamed, both Phil and Miss Kay are now receiving care in the same facility. They are even able to stay in the same room together. According to son Jase Robertson, the physical closeness between the married couple of more than five decades has been some of the "best medicine" the couple could receive.

Granted, the reality of the situation according to the Unashamed Podcast is this. Phil's health continues to be in decline but being around Miss Kay has been a positive for him. According to Jase, just having Miss Kay around has helped to keep Phil calmer and he has been able to assist her if you know anything about true love, that can make all the difference.
