The wait was short as Dustin's Battle aired last night as he was paired off against Revel Day. The latter, California-based and raised, has been singing since the young age of 12, and falls into the smooth R&B category.

A Battle of Smooth Vocals
The two contestants squared off in the ring singing Hozier's "Too Sweet," and both brought it with some smooth vocals, great energy, big emotions, and a close performance.
Judges React to the Showdown
All four judges showered both artists with praise.
Reba McEntire said that Dustin fascinated her from the Blind Auditions forward. She eventually gave the nod to him.
Michael Bublé proclaimed Dustin as one of his favorite voices on the show, but praised Revel on his soulful, gorgeous rendition of the song. And since he gave such an "out-of-pocket" performance, he went with Revel.
Then Snoop Dogg weighed in and said that the song was perfect for both artists, even though it was out of Revel's wheelhouse. In the end though, he liked the "many voices" of Dustin and went with him.

However, in the end, Dustin and Revel's coach, Niall Horan got the final say as to who would win the Battle Round. He thought they both did well and wondered why the two picked each other for the battle.
Niall Horan’s Tough Decision
"I really wish you didn't pick each other in the first place. I don't know what you were thinking, you idiots," Niall joked.
In the end, Niall deemed Dustin the winner of this battle. In recapping, he said, "I think Dustin is the most unique singer in this competition. We could potentially have a winner in Dustin."
What’s Next for Dustin on The Voice
So, with that Dustin moves on in the competition to the Knockout Round.
As to when we'll see him on the show again, that remains unknown. It will be sometime after October 20, as that is when the last round of The Battles will air.
So, you'll just have to keep watching on Mondays and Tuesdays at 7:00 pm on NBC to see when Dustin appears next.
