Our friends at Evangeline Downs are continuing their holiday tradition of giving back to the community.

They will be awarding a total of $10,000 in cash to all participants of the 3rd annual "Trees of Hope" during the awards ceremony at 6pm on December 22nd.

1st place will received $5,000, 2nd place will get $2,500, 3rd place receives $1,000, while all other participants will receive $125.

“We are very excited by the public participation in this holiday tradition and look forward to announcing the winners,” said Bret Cox, Vice President and General Manager of Evangeline Downs. “The participants in this year’s Trees of Hope did a wonderful job decorating the trees. And we look forward to displays that grow more creative and festive each year.”

Participants in this year’s contest are: ARC of Acadiana, Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana, CASA of Acadiana, CASA of St. Landry, Curry Golden American Auxiliary Unit 514, ECKERD - Acadiana Wraparound Agency, LARC’s Acadian Village, Muscular Dystrophy Association, NONCO Foundation, Rebuilding Together Acadiana, Rotary Club of Opelousas, St. Landry – Evangeline Sexual Assault Center, VITA (Volunteer Instructors Teaching Adults), and United Way St. Landry-Evangeline.
