The report from KLFY says that a 911 call was made by an Arcadia High School employee at 9:15 a.m. on March 3, 2022. The employee reportedly observed that multiple students were ill.

After Arcadia Police, Bienville Parish Sheriff's Office, and investigators responded to the call, they reportedly determined that five juvenile students had, "ingested an unknown substance and had become somewhat lethargic, and displayed poor coordination".

The five students were brought to Bienville Medical Center for observation. Blood samples were also reportedly taken for analysis. Investigators went to Bienville Medical Center and reportedly determined that the gummy candies the students had ingested were believed to contain THC or some other controlled substance.
