Acadia Parish Sheriff's deputies now have their fugitive in custody - 31-year-old Steven Dietz of Evangeline - following several months of teaming up with several law enforcement to capture him.

Dietz, who was featured on Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish, has been wanted on the following charges:

  • Felony Theft
  • Unauthorized Entry of a Place of Business and Criminal Damage to Property
  • Resisting an Officer
  • Possession of Stolen Things
  • Aggravated Battery

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson says Dietz, who currently sits in the Acadia Parish Jail on a bond of $585,000.00, is also a suspect in several other thefts in the Evangeline community.

(March 18, 2020) - A man from the town of Evangeline is wanted by law enforcement officials from Acadia Parish after he has been accused of stealing oil and gas equipment.

Deputies are looking for a 30-year-old man named Steven "Animal" Dietz.

This man is wanted for stealing a bunch of oil and gas equipment from a place in an area that is in the Western Acadia Parish area.

Officials say that Dietz is a white male weighing about 160 pounds and he's about 5'9" tall. He's got hazel eyes and brown hair.

Dietz's last known address was 2400 Evangline Highway in Evangeline.
