Garth Brooks Serenades 89-Year-Old Fan at Last Lafayette Show [Video]
Garthmania came to a close last night at the Cajundome in Lafayette as he wrapped up the fifth and final show of his two weekend run. Everyone I know that went to the show only had amazing things to say about the performances.
There were definitely some memorable moments. But what happened on Saturday night might have been the best.
At some point during each performance, Garth is on stage just him and his guitar and playing requests for the audience pretty much solely off of the signs they've made.
A special fan named Laura had a very unique sign last night. According to her poster, the last concert she attended was Elvis Presley.
Elvis has been dead for nearly 40 years! And on top of that, Ms Laura is 89 years old!
Once Garth spotted her, all in the 'Dome knew something special was about to happen. Not only did he serenade her, but he walked out to her seat to do so.
Now, he wasn't able to play her an Elvis song, but he did offer to play any of his songs that she wanted. He ended playing "If Tomorrow Never Comes". You could see the shear delight on that sweet lady's face along with a few tears from her family and friends around her.
And to top it all off, Garth handed over his guitar to her as a gift after the performance.
This, my friends, is why Garth Brooks is hands down the best entertainer in the history of country music. Thanks for blessing our town with your talents.
