We hear there is a little college football game happening this weekend in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and apparently, a few folks from Lafayette, Louisiana, and the surrounding areas will be making the trek to attend. So, we thought it would be nice to help out you travelers by letting you know about some of the speed traps along your journey.

Of course, first, we're talking about the LSU Tigers taking on the Alabama Crimson Tide this Saturday, November 4th at 6:45 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium. (Just in case someone's been living under the proverbial rock.)

Do keep in mind, that the list of speed traps and speed trap towns we are about to show you is nothing really scientific or based on cold, hard facts.

What we do have though are the results of travelers we know who frequent the stretch of interstates between Lafayette, Louisiana, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama on a regular basis.

These friends of ours have kept tabs on the exact spots and relative stretches of roadways that you would take along that path that have officers of the law who seem to enjoy handing out speeding tickets.

We're just trying to save you some money since you're probably spending a small fortune getting to the game, staying in town, tailgating, and actually attending the game.

The following list we've compiled includes the following highways and byways:

  • Interstates 10 & 12 in Louisiana
  • Interstate 55, mostly in Mississippi
  • Interstate 20, mostly in Alabama

So, you might want to keep tabs on our list below and slow down a bit when you get to these spots along your six-hour(ish) journey.

Best of luck in your travels. And most importantly, GEAUX TIGERS!
