Governor Jon Bel Edwards sent a message out on social media as Child Abuse Prevention Month is observed around the country in April.

The @LouisianaGov posted the below message on Twitter.

Governor Edwards' message to the state of Louisiana talks about how people around the country are taking the time in April to devote resources and attention to protecting children and families around the United States.

Child abuse and neglect is an issue that the Louisiana Governor says is, "completely preventable" and he hopes that communities across the state can work to provide solutions that will resolve these issues.

Governor Edwards finishes his statement saying, "Our community cares. Get involved in preventing child abuse before it occurs. Let's work together, Louisiana, to protect out most important asset; our children".
