High School Kid’s Service Dog Get His Own Photo in the Yearbook
This is about one of the coolest stories I've seen in a long time. First, the backstory.
There's a 16-year-old kid in Falmouth, Virginia named A.J. Schalk who has type-1 diabetes. And he has a service dog named Alpha who goes everywhere with him.
Alpha can sense when his owner's blood sugar is about drop and he can let him know about 30 mintues before it happens. He even brings the dog to school with him.
The other kids love Alpha too. So this year, the people in charge of the yearbook decided to include the pooch's photo in it and the internet is going nuts.
His headshot is right next to A.J.'s in the yearbook and he's listed as "Alpha Schalk". (A.J. is listed as "Andrew Schalk.")
The school also made Alpha his own school I.D.
Y'all, this is about all you need to make it through the day. How sweet is this?!?
