"She doesn't work. She's a stay at home Mom." Yeah, right! Being a stay at home Mom is a 24/7 job that doesn't pay overtime. It doesn't pay at all, for that matter...at least not in money.

A recent survey of 2,000 stay at home Moms with kids aged 5-18, indicates they spend an average of 97 hours per week parenting. 62% of respondents said they don't get time for a sit down meal.

The average wage for a child care worker in the US is about $21,000. That being said, what about domestic tasks like laundry, cooking, dusting mopping, grocery shopping, meal planning, chauffering the kids, planning & hosting social gatherings, teaching the kids basic life skills? Add cheerleading, nursing (tending to "bo-bo's")

I'm a "bottom line" kind of guy. Here it is: The average stat at home Mom in the US does nearly $100,500.00 worth of work every year, for no pay, and no retirement benefits.
