‘I Voted’ Sticker To Be Unveiled In Lafayette Today
It is a sign of responsibility completed. It's the "I Voted" sticker that's become quite popular with those of us who choose to have a say so in the way our cities, towns, states, and nations are governed. Several years ago Louisiana made national headlines with the Blue Dog version of the "I Voted" sticker, this morning we will find out what the sticker for the October 12th election will look like.
Louisiana's Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin will be in Lafayette for an unveiling of the new sticker this morning. Ceremonies are scheduled for 10 am in the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum on Campus at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette.
Secretary Ardoin will be joined by local dignitaries including the artist who designed this year's sticker. You may recall the stickers were in such high demand that many Louisiana voters became upset when they were not offered one when they had completed their ballots.
Some conspiracy theorists even concocted a story that tied the lack of stickers to issues with election day gaffes in the system. That was soundly proven to not be the case. The fact was, the state didn't have the money to pay for the stickers that were needed, so none were made available.
However, this year, you will once again be able to vote with pride and confidence and share the message that you voted with the world. I have to admit, it's going to be hard to top that Blue Dog sticker, that one was cool.
