An injured Baton Rouge police officer got out of his hospital bed to salute his colleagues who showed up at the hospital where he is being treated.

Corporal Derrick Maglone was injured in a shooting last weekend and he has been in a Baton Rouge hospital since then.

But that didn't stop about dozens of officers from showing up outside the hospital to show their support.

The officers lit up the night, while on their motorcycles, just outside of Officer Maglone's hospital room. Aware of the officers being out there, Maglone got up from a chair or bed and stood up to salute his colleagues.

Sadly, one officer did not survive the shooting, but Cpl. Maglone is on the road to recovery. What a beautiful gesture.
