A date has been set for the official public unveiling of what will be Louisiana's newest casino. The "Queen" suggests through its promotional materials that is a "dining and entertainment destination". And the newly revamped gaming facility will have plenty of room for both of those activities. According to reports, The Queen will have a footprint of some 100,000 square feet. That's a substantial increase from the Hollywood Casino's 62,000-square-foot footprint.

The gaming floor at The Queen will offer some 30,000 square feet of gaming space. The casino has plans to offer 18 table games and 731 gaming machines of all descriptions to match almost any player's tastes and superstitions.

The Queen will also be home to the DraftKings Sportsbook. That's a place where those who want to place wagers on sporting events may do so. The Sportsbook will offer window transactions and some 20 different kiosks so those wanting to make a wager won't have to stand in line to do so.

Dining at The Queen will also feature Shaquille O'Neal's Big Chicken. The chicken franchised owned by the LSU and NBA legend will be one of many food and beverage options. There will be everything from snacks to steaks to soups and everything in between.

Those close to the refurbishment and redevelopment of the property say the casino and entertainment complex will also offer meeting space and exhibition rooms. And the parking lot has been redesigned making it easier for patrons to arrive and leave efficiently and safely.

Again, the opening date for The Queen Baton Rouge has officially been set for August 24th at 9 pm.
