Louisiana Artist Hunter Hayes Looks Back on Himself From the 1990s
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Many of us in Acadiana have watched Hunter Hayes grow up to be the man he is now, and the Louisiana favorite recently shared a video of himself from the 90s.
Hunter Hayes was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana (The Crawfish Capital of the World) in 1991, and his love for music and entertaining was evident from a very early age.
If you attended parades or other events in Acadiana in the early 2000s, chances are you saw the young blonde kid from Breaux Bridge perform. My late grandfather would always book Hayes when he was. A young boy was to perform for our annual Christmas parade back home, and I remember him telling me on several occasions, "This young boy will be a star one day."
Well, my grandfather was right, and Hayes skyrocketed to fame after he released his self-titled debut album in 2011. His album reached number seven on the Billboard 100 and was the number one album on Top Country Albums.
Hunter Hayes was nominated for five Grammys and won the 2012 CMA Award for New Artist of the Year.
Being born in Acadiana, Hayes quickly picked up the French language as a kid, and he also mastered playing the accordion. Some will tell you that as a kid, Hunter Hayes always had the accordion in his hands, and he was always playing it anywhere he went.
So, apparently, he was asked to describe himself in the 90s, and in the video below, you see the young boy so many of us remember in parades and on stages across Acadiana.
Let's take a trip down "Memory Lane" with one of our favorite Louisiana artists. Do you recognize this young boy?
As the years have gone by, Hunter Hayes has become a massive country star, and here are just a few more photos of the Louisiana artist through the years.
We think you will enjoy these.
