The Lafayette Police Department to the rescue.

One thing that I've noticed in recent months is the comedy being shared by various police agencies across the state of Louisiana.

Sure, we know that they have to deal with a lot of serious matters, but it is refreshing to see officers having some fun even while they are in uniform and serving their respective communities.

In a recent photo shared by the Lafayette Police Dept., an officer is seen standing next to a huge stuffed animal.

Well, according to the social media post, the Beaver was rescued from West Congress by this officer.

We assume that the stuffed animal was in the road and that is when the officer here came to its rescue.

Yes, apparently the officer got the stuffed animal off the road and it lived to see another day in Lafayette.

Again, I love seeing those who serve and protect our community let their guard down and have some fun while on the job.

Job well done here and we hope that this Beaver finds a good home, and stays off of West Congress, after all, that is a busy roadway in Lafayette.
