Louisiana Fans Will Notice Huge Change on Turf at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium
(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Fans across Louisiana are excited for the 2025 football season, and fans of the UL Ragin Cajuns are super excited for the upcoming season because renovations on the home side of Cajun Field are complete.
While many Cajun fans are excited to see the new stadium and all that it has to offer, there's another significant change coming to Cajun Field, and that's the new playing surface.
In addition to new stands and suites, the playing surface on Cajun Field is being removed and is currently being replaced.
UL Athletic Director Dr. Bryan Maggard recently posted a photo of the old turf being removed from the field, with a new surface to be placed down. Well, with everything going on at Cajun Field, a friend of mine asked Dr. Maggard if the logo at the 50-yard line would be flipped to face the visitors' side of the stadium.
In a reply under the photo, which you can see below, Dr. Maggard said that the Cajuns logo would indeed face towards the eastern side of the stadium, away from the home side of Cajun Field.
The reason for flipping the logo to face towards the Cajundome is that, with the renovation, TV cameras will now shoot towards the home crowd from the east side of the stadium.
So, for those sitting on the home side in Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium, you will notice that the Cajuns logo is flipped, and that is for television purposes. Sure, it may look odd at first to those in the stadium, but on TV, this will look great, with the new home side of the stadium being the focal point.
